Pastors & Staff

Dustin McEwen

Pastor

Pastor Dustin McEwen, originally from Anson, Texas, has been serving the Community Methodist Church in Ruidoso since 2018. He has more than 20 years of pastoral experience when he began pastoring in Seagraves, TX in 2004. First and foremost he is a devoted Christian in the Wesleyan tradition, a husband, and a loving father of two amazing teenagers. Dustin is passionate about discipleship and focuses on creating meaningful connections through small groups, formation groups, and a Tuesday evening dinner church called "Community Table."

Dustin enjoys reading, hiking the mountains, swimming, coaching track, watching comedies and stand-up with his wife, and drawing people closer to Jesus.  He genuinely cares about building relationships and would love to hear from you. Whether it’s over a cup of tea or lunch, Dustin is eager to connect!

Stephen Page

Worship Pastor

Stephen Page has been in the music ministry for over fifteen years, serving as a worship leader, musician, and composer. He is passionate to serve and loves to create, build, and grow worship ministries for God’s glory. At Community, he leads a music program that includes a choir, contemporary worship band, and handbells. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children, as well as travel, nature, and of course, listening to music.

Cindy McCuaig

Office Administrator

What a joy it is to be on staff at CMC.  God’s call on my life has been one of service and hospitality, and as Office Administrator, I have the opportunity for both!  The best part of my day is spent welcoming people as they arrive at the office building; the children arriving for preschool each morning, those needing assistance, and others who just want to visit.  I thoroughly enjoy coordinating church activities, communicating with church members (and non-members), helping Dustin and the church staff with tasks that help our ministries run smoothly, and just being available for whatever is needed each day.

I am a former Texas educator, and most recently retired from Sacramento Camp & Conference Center here in New Mexico, where I was in ministry with my husband, Bill.      We have three wonderful children and their spouses, and nine beautiful grandchildren.            I love spending my spare time with my family, friends, taking walks in the woods with my husband and our dog, Hank, and traveling in our little camper trailer.  Or as our young grandson refers to it, our “house-on-wheels”.

As believers in Jesus Christ, we’re all called to reflect “The Light of the World”.  I don’t always accomplish that, but it is my desire to show God’s love to everyone who walks through our doors.

Mirna Polendo

Imagination Station Director

I am the Director of Imagination Station and a proud mother of four amazing adult children. I am also blessed with a sweet granddaughter who fills my heart with joy. My husband and I have been happily married for 29 years, and together we’ve built a strong, faith-filled family. I have lived in Ruidoso for many years and truly love being part of this community. I believe in hard work and dedication, always striving to make the best out of every situation—whether it’s good or challenging. My greatest joy at work is watching children grow and thrive—their smiles remind me daily of the beautiful miracles God has entrusted to us.

Lessa Trosper

Youth Leader

I am Lessa Trosper—first and foremost, a child of God, as well as a wife, mother, and strong woman who has walked a lifelong journey with Dyslexia and ADHD. Nineteen years ago, I stepped into youth ministry in Colorado, where I also met my husband. We served together in church ministry for 10 years before God called our family to Ruidoso.
Today, my husband continues to serve God faithfully in all he does, and I have returned to my passion—ministering to the youth of our village through the Community Methodist Church. Our children are thriving here, growing into who they are meant to be in Christ.
I believe deeply in planting the seed of Christ in the hearts of teens, helping them build a relationship with God that they can carry with them and return to throughout their lives.

David Powers

Community Table/Chef

David is our chef and co-leader of Community Table. He has served as a chef at various points in his life. He joined our staff when we started Community Table in 2023. David has a heart to reach new people for  Jesus, and he can connect with people from all walks of life.

Shelly Young

Financial Treasurer

Shelly started as our treasurer in 2025. She has had a fantastic life as a business owner, mother, wife, and follower of Jesus.

Gary Shaver

Church Maintenance

Gary served as the high school choir and band director for decades in Ruidoso, NM. After retiring, he decided to help out at the church by taking on the maintenance and cleaning position. In addition to his work at the church, Gary enjoys spending time with his adult children, hunting, and deepening his understanding of Jesus.

Pat Walshe

Organist

I began taking piano lessons in the first grade and continued throughout high school. Then I began substituting for the church my husband, Bob, and I worshipped in Germany. I continued to help with church music in all the places we lived: Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, and now in retirement here in Ruidoso. I feel the Lord was preparing me to praise and honor Him through music from an early age. It is a privilege to serve our Lord Jesus as CMC with music!
